The dog-owner is liable for damages in cases where sheep are killed or injured. The owner of the sheep is allowed to shoot the dog if it is causing damage to his sheep or the dog may be seized by the Gardaí. Stray dogs will be picked up by the dog warden. Farmers who are affected are asked to report all attacks to the Gardaí and the dog warden. For more info please contact Patricia Morley, Environment section, Galway County Council @ 091 509560
